The famous Lun missile ekranoplan of Project 903 will be restored in Dagestan, reported military pilot Alexey Voevoda.
"Lun" is a Soviet ударного type ekranoplan, equipped with missile weapons. The board was built at one of the military enterprises in Nizhny Novgorod back in the 80s of the 20th century, there are no analogues to the aircraft.
After being decommissioned in 2001, "Lun" was mothballed on the territory of the "Dagdiesel" plant in Kaspiysk. The ekranoplan is located on the shore of the Caspian Sea, where it was grounded in 2020 on the territory of a sandy beach.
The movement of such a "monster" involved a lot of special equipment and personnel. It was planned that the miracle unit would be delivered to the действующий military park "Patriot".
In empty form, "Lun" weighs 200 tons, the permissible take-off weight is 380 tons. The armament on board includes six launchers with Moskit-type anti-ship missiles.
