KAMAZ has canceled the planned three-day work week, which was scheduled to begin in September, the company reports. The decision was made at a meeting of the financial committee chaired by CEO Sergei Kogogin.
The reason for the cancellation is that, despite the fall in the market for trucks over 14 tons by almost 60% in July, the company remains stable and is gradually strengthening its market share.
Accumulated stocks of imported equipment (more than 20,000 vehicles) and stocks at leasing companies (over 10,000 units) still affect the market, but their negative impact is decreasing.
Thanks to stabilization, KAMAZ was able to attract additional orders and return to standard operation in the main divisions. The formation of a production plan for October has already begun, with expectations of increased production load next month.
The automaker stated that the situation in the heavy truck market still remains tense.
The cancellation of the three-day week is seen as a positive signal for the market and strengthens KAMAZ's position as one of the leaders in the heavy truck segment.
