The companies "Satellite System "Gonets"", Geoscan, and the Tomsk Scientific and Production Center "Unmanned Aviation Systems" (SPC UAS) conducted a unique experiment in which one drone provided communication for another.
The Geoscan drone with the Gonets communication radio complex rose to a height of 4 km and created an extended service area with a diameter of about 340 km. This "dome" was used to communicate with users and cars, as well as with another subscriber drone.
We have technically confirmed the important possibility of communication interaction between drones at different altitudes, when one unmanned vessel is a reference point of communication for another.
According to him, within the boundaries of the "dome", it is possible to build logistics chains for unmanned delivery vehicles. A comprehensive solution will be useful in various fields, Manoylo believes.
The interaction of UAVs and satellite systems has great potential, added Alexey Yuretsky, General Director of Geoscan. The company is interested in developing this area and will test complex tasks for "dome communication".
