The first train of the new "Baltiets-2" model arrived on August 20 at the Oktyabrsky Electric Car Repair Plant in St. Petersburg. The rolling stock is intended for operation on the Moscow-Petrograd line of the subway.
The final assembly of the train will begin on September 1. Specialists of the enterprise will perform a complex of electrical installation works, install door systems and conduct the necessary tests.
The new train differs from the previous model with an improved ventilation system, as well as quieter and smoother doors. The exterior and interior of the cars are designed in a blue-violet color scheme, corresponding to the color of the Moscow-Petrograd line.
By the end of 2031, it is planned to supply 950 modern cars for the St. Petersburg subway. The developer of the "Baltiets-2" model is Metrovagonmash, which is part of the TMH engineering holding.
