A new photo of the Su-35 fighter in export configuration for an unnamed customer has appeared online. Presumably, the aircraft was built for Egypt, but now it will be received by the Algerian army.
Back in 2018, Russia and Egypt signed a contract for 30 Su-35 fighters with the first delivery already in 2020. However, despite the production of several fighters by the specified date, Egypt refused to accept the aircraft.
As a result, the finished Su-35s were located at the KnAAZ in Komsomolsk-on-Amur for several years until they found a new foreign customer. Later, the Su-35 in a similar Egyptian camouflage was spotted at the Umm-El-Buaghi airbase in Algeria.
It is known that Algeria ordered a total of 14 Su-35E fighters around the same time as Egypt, so it is most likely that some of the idle aircraft will go to North Africa.
