Specialists at the Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant (KMZ) have modernized the design of the AK-24 anchor. The new version, designated AK-24B, features balanced flukes, which increases its holding power.
The AK-24 anchor is designed to secure a vessel in strong winds, currents, and waves. Its holding power ranges from 6 to 8 times its own mass. In the new model, engineers at SKB-2 KMZ have applied an innovative solution not previously used in similar designs. The AK-24B anchor line includes models weighing from 5512 to 15000 kg. All documentation has been reviewed and approved by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping. This confirms the product's compliance with safety and reliability requirements.
The AK-24B competes with foreign analogues such as Bruce or Danforth anchors. The main advantage of the new development is the combination of high holding power and resistance to extreme loads.
All developed design documentation has been approved by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.
