The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec) conducted tests of the new MC-21 aircraft as part of certification tests to confirm the absence of structural vibrations in various flight modes.

During the tests, the crew assessed the behavior of the control surfaces and wing under aerodynamic loads, as well as the airframe's resistance to the occurrence of flutter vibrations.

Flutter is self-excited torsional and bending aeroelastic vibrations of aircraft structural elements. They occur when a critical speed is reached and can theoretically lead to the destruction of the aircraft.

Particular attention was paid to the ultimate angles of attack and modes with increased loads, as close as possible to operating conditions.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the MC-21 aircraft flew for the first time to test navigation systems as a regular aircraft.
