The Su-35 fighter became the predecessor to the Su-35S, which is currently in service with the Russian Aerospace Forces. The assembly of the deeply modernized version of the T-10S was completed in 2007, and it was first demonstrated to the public at the MAKS air show static exposition.
The first flight took place a year later under the control of test pilot Sergei Bogdan.
The serial-produced Su-35S differs significantly from the Su-27M, and due to the technological solutions it has incorporated, the aircraft is classified as the so-called "4++" generation.
For example, the edges of the airframe are covered with materials that reduce the effective scattering area (ESA), the complex of onboard equipment is as close as possible to the innards of fifth-generation fighters, and the cockpit canopy has a conductive coating.
All these, and many other technical solutions, have turned the Su-35S into the ultimate alpha predator in its class and a more than worthy competitor for fifth-generation fighters.
Earlier www1.ru reported that details emerged about the new Russian ballistic missile.
