The deployment of the Russian satellite system " рассвет " (analog of the American Starlink) will begin in December 2025. This was announced by Dmitry Bakanov, head of Roscosmos.
The launch of the first 16 satellites will take place from the Plesetsk military cosmodrome. The commercial service of the system will be launched in 2027. By this time, it is planned to launch more than 250 satellites into orbit.
By 2035, the number of devices in the " рассвет " group may increase to 900. One of the first customers will be Aeroflot.
The system is being developed by the private company "Bureau 1440" with the support of Roscosmos. The " рассвет " group is designed to provide global broadband Internet access. The system will provide communication to remote regions, air and rail transport with a data transfer rate of up to 1 Gbps and a signal delay of up to 70 ms.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the Russian aerospace company "Bureau 1440" (part of the "IKS Holding" group) launched automated production of space-based solar panels.
