The updated directory of the average cost of spare parts, used for calculating insurance payments under compulsory motor third-party liability insurance (CMTPLI), came into force on June 19, 2025. According to the Russian Association of Motor Insurers (RAMI), the overall price increase was 1.9%, but the dynamics vary depending on the country of origin.
The largest price decrease was recorded for Chinese brands: Geely (-8.5%), Chery (-4.0%), and Omoda (-2.8%). Among European manufacturers, Ford (-3%) and Volvo (-3.5%) also saw a decrease. At the same time, spare parts for French Citroen and Peugeot increased in price by 13.8% and 12.9%, respectively. Experts attribute this to logistical costs and a limited number of original component suppliers.
Logistics and exchange rates are influenced by economic and political factors. The lack of stability in these areas leads, among other things, to changes in the prices of auto parts. In addition, the limited number of suppliers affects the price increase and delivery times of components.
It is worth emphasizing that we are talking about average prices for components, which are calculated for both original parts and their analogues. This applies not only to Citroen and Peugeot products, but to all brands in general. This approach is used to determine the average cost of spare parts in accordance with the unified methodology approved by the Bank of Russia. Experts believe that the possibility of purchasing analogues for Russian car owners will remain at the same level.
According to Ilya Plisov from the Union of Auto Services, at the moment the Russian auto parts market can offer a sufficient number of non-original spare parts for cars of French brands:
Today, the Russian market offers a sufficient number of analogues for most Citroen and Peugeot spare parts. The use of such analogues is a common practice that allows you to avoid long waiting times for original parts and reduce repair costs. High-quality non-original parts are available for most models.
The updated data is based on a market study conducted in February–April 2025. The analysis showed that suppliers are actively increasing the volume of high-quality non-original spare parts that meet the requirements of CMTPLI.
