Recently, the difference in prices for Lada cars between Russia and Belarus has been actively discussed online. Popular models in the neighboring country are sold much cheaper. Sometimes the difference reaches several hundred thousand rubles.
According to a company representative, the reason for this difference lies in the peculiarities of the Belarusian partner's marketing program and differences in pricing.
The partner independently forms its marketing policy. We would also like to add that in the Republic of Belarus, pricing in the automotive market differs from pricing in Russia: customs duties, fees, VAT, bank rate, support measures, etc.
Last week, sales of the Lada Vesta sedan started in Belarus at a promotional price of 43,900 Belarusian rubles, which is equivalent to approximately 1,170,000 Russian rubles at the current exchange rate. For this amount, buyers receive a well-equipped car with an engine start button and a media system, while the basic version of Vesta in Russia costs at least 1,525,000 rubles.
A similar situation is observed with the Lada Granta model. The liftback in the initial configuration can be purchased for 30,900 Belarusian rubles, which is about 830,000 Russian rubles. At the same time, the cheapest version of Granta in Russia, the "Classic'24 Air Conditioner" configuration with a 90-horsepower engine, costs almost 250,000 rubles more — at least 1,077,000 rubles.
AvtoVAZ does not exclude the possibility of a new indexation of prices for Lada cars. A representative of the concern noted that before making such a decision, the company will continue to analyze the competitive environment and the current state of the Russian car market.
