Engineers at the design and technology center of the Kalashnikov concern (part of Rostec) have improved the design of the recoil mechanism and bolt of the 9 mm Kalashnikov PPK-20 submachine gun.
The main goal of the modernization is to improve tactical, technical, and ergonomic characteristics, and to increase manufacturability. In particular, the changes have expanded the range of cartridges used by the PPK-20.
The PPK-20 is one of the best submachine guns in the world for the next twenty years.
Currently, the 9 mm Kalashnikov PPK-20 submachine gun is being mass-produced and supplied to a number of countries.
