Россия проводит антипиратские учения в Балтийском море: обеспечат свободу судоходства

A total of about 20 warships are participating in the maneuvers

Russian ships, supported by aviation, began exercises in the Baltic Sea on May 27, the Baltic Fleet press service reported. The maneuvers will last until the middle of next week.

The exercises involve more than 20 warships, boats and support vessels, including corvettes, a frigate, small missile ships and boats, small anti-submarine ships, support vessels, minesweepers, as well as about three thousand military personnel, about 25 helicopters and aircraft, and about 70 units of military and special equipment.

Therefore, the exercises launched on May 27 by the Baltic Fleet can be safely called anti-piracy. They are aimed at ensuring the freedom of maritime navigation in the Baltic Sea and forming a stable and safe maritime navigation.

As part of the exercises, the crews of the ships are practicing protection against unmanned boats and anti-submarine tasks, and will conduct practical artillery fire at sea and air targets.
