The Il-76 has become one of the main aircraft of the Military Transport Aviation of Russia, playing an important role in ensuring the rapid transfer of troops, equipment and material resources. This was stated in the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC).
The universal transport aircraft has a large carrying capacity and the ability to operate from almost any airfield, including unpaved sites, which makes it an indispensable tool for rapid response of the Armed Forces.
The Il-76 is capable not only of transporting personnel and cargo of various purposes both within the country and around the world, but also of extinguishing natural and man-made fires.
Today, the VTA is receiving a new modernized Il-76MD-90A aircraft, capable of effectively solving most of the tasks at a qualitatively new level. It is symbolic that one of them was named after the outstanding aircraft designer, the creator of the Il-76, Heinrich Vasilyevich Novozhilov.
