KAMAZ Sues Ministry of Industry and Trade for Almost 390 Million Rubles

Multi-Million Subsidy Claim Fully Satisfied

The Moscow Arbitration Court has granted a claim by VTK KAMAZ Joint Stock Company against the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia for 386 million rubles. This information appeared in the arbitration case files.

The dispute arose from problems with the company receiving compensation for the transportation of industrial products under Russian Government Decree No. 1347 of July 28, 2022. VTK KAMAZ applied for a subsidy of 394 million rubles on August 20, 2023. However, the auto giant was denied the payments because the company was 18 minutes late in submitting the application.

VTK KAMAZ went to court. The first and appellate instances supported the ministry's position, while the cassation court ruled in favor of the plaintiff. During the court proceedings, the amount of the claim was reduced to 386 million rubles.

As a result, the ministry was ordered to provide KAMAZ with a subsidy. However, the company never received the funds, and the plaintiff went to court again, which it won.

A subsidy is a measure of state support for exporting organizations; in this case, the plaintiff does not receive commercial gain.
