The Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant (KMZ) military-industrial holding has tested a Soviet D100 diesel engine with import-substituted components, the holding's press service reported.
D100 is a family of Soviet inline two-stroke diesel engines with opposed pistons.
KMZ is successfully testing components for the D100 engine as part of its own test bench for the needs of Rosenergoatom.
The equipment ensures the operation of diesel power plants, which help cool the reactor in the event of an emergency at a nuclear power plant.
Previously, parts for the D100 were supplied by the Kharkiv Plant of Transport Engineering named after V.A. Malyshev. The company specializes in the production of medium-speed engines and armored vehicles.
