Самозанятые водители выступили против законопроекта об использовании в такси только автомобилей российской сборки

Entrepreneurs are asking not to adopt the law on Russian assembly of taxi cars

The Association of Self-Employed of Russia (OSR) has sent an appeal to President Vladimir Putin asking him not to adopt a bill that obliges taxi fleets and self-employed drivers to use exclusively Russian-made cars.

This bill was proposed to stimulate local car production, which should contribute to an increase in sales to 100 thousand cars per year. However, self-employed drivers and entrepreneurs in the taxi industry believe that such requirements may become an unbearable burden for most of them.

Representatives of the OSR note that one of the main problems of the bill is the high cost of replacing cars with new domestic models, especially in the context of high car prices and the lack of affordable preferential car loan programs. The bill only affects new cars intended for use in taxis, and does not apply to existing cars.

In addition, in some regions of Russia, for example, in the Far East, Japanese-made cars prevail in car parks, which will make it difficult to comply with the new requirements. Many taxi fleets prefer Chinese-made cars because of their low cost.

The Association of Self-Employed of Russia has asked the president to revise the bill and find a solution that takes into account the interests of both automakers and carriers.
