An automatic device for multi-stage control of asynchronous motor start-up has been created at Novosibirsk State Technical University (NSTU). This was reported in the press service of the university.
The new device delays the external signal to turn on the motor and checks the network parameters.
If the parameters are acceptable in a given time interval, a command is generated to start the motor. In other words, we know what will happen next, and we can interrupt an unsuccessful start at a small interval to reduce the circuit and mode consequences in low-power power systems during unsuccessful starts of asynchronous motors.
The development has already been patented, and experts plan to test the device in the near future.
The development is needed to ensure the reliable functioning of local power supply systems of commensurate power in the context of a constantly changing structure and composition of generating equipment and load nodes.
According to Ilya Dulov, one of the advantages of the created device is its cost. It does not exceed more than 10% of the cost of the motor itself.
Earlier www1.ru reported that in Russia they will start developing low-speed high-power engines.
