Novatek to Complete Construction of Largest LNG Plant in Central Federal District in 2025

Novatek to Invest 8.5 Billion Rubles in LNG Plant Construction in Russia

Novatek plans to complete the construction of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant in the Tula region in 2025. Investments in the project, located in the Uzlovaya special economic zone, will exceed 8.5 billion rubles.

The agreement on the implementation of the plant was signed by the regional government with "Novatek - LNG fuel" in 2024. The Governor of the Tula region, Dmitry Milyaev, emphasized that environmental issues and carbon neutrality are priorities for the region.

The use of LNG reduces carbon dioxide emissions by 20-25%, depending on the engine characteristics and fuel composition. In addition, LNG is an effective source of energy for autonomous gasification of various industrial and agricultural facilities.

The construction of the small-tonnage complex has already begun and includes work on the construction of foundations, driveways, installation of technological equipment and laying of on-site networks.

The plant will become the largest in the Central Federal District and will provide supplies of liquefied natural gas as motor fuel through a network of cryogenic filling stations, as well as for the needs of autonomous gasification.
