Articles about the Russian medium-range ballistic missile "Oreshnik" and related terms have begun to actively appear in online encyclopedias of the Asia-Pacific region.
These materials appeared, among other places, in the Chinese encyclopedia of the large search portal "Baidu Baike."
In Chinese, the word "oreshnik" sounds like "zhenshu," and the full name "Oreshnik hypersonic medium-range missile" translates as "Zhenshu zhongcheng gaochaoyin'su daodan."
Moreover, initially, after the appearance of information about the first tests, in China this word was written in transcription and sounded like "aoleshinike."
Since the word had to be written with a number of hieroglyphs, the PRC decided to rename it in its own way. At the moment, the article in Baidu Baike about "Oreshnik" has been read more than 40 thousand times.
In the South Korean analogue of "Wikipedia" - "Namu Wiki" - users created a separate article dedicated to "Oreshnik" in the context of a ballistic missile. The name of the domestic missile is presented in transcription and sounds like "Oreshyunikhy."
Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that the warheads of "Oreshnik" attack targets at speeds of up to Mach 10, or about 3 km/s, and Western air defense systems do not have the ability to intercept them.
Earlier www1.ru reported on how the Su-35S fighter will repel the threat of ultra-long-range American AIM-174B missiles.
