Automated traffic violation recording systems have brought in record amounts. In 2025, cameras registered over 214 million cases of traffic violations, resulting in fines of 206 billion rubles. This is almost one and a half times more than the previous year, when the figure reached 149 billion.

Of the total amount of fines issued to drivers, about 153 billion has already been paid. For comparison, in 2024, almost 237 million cases were opened, but only 85 billion was paid.
For several years, there has been a trend towards an increase in the amount of fines: in 2023, 220.9 million resolutions were issued for a total amount of 140.9 billion, of which 76.5 billion was paid. In 2022, the number of resolutions amounted to 183.5 million for a total amount of 112.9 billion, and the amount of paid fines reached 64.5 billion.
Even earlier, in 2021, the amount was 104.1 billion (160.7 thousand resolutions), in 2020 - 94.2 billion (145.5 thousand), and in 2019 - 82.8 billion (122.1 thousand).

The development of video surveillance technologies and recognition algorithms plays a key role in this growth. Modern cameras not only record speeding or running a red light, but also integrate with databases for quick processing.
