Эксперт призвал задействовать самолеты ДРЛОиУ А-50У для отражения атак Storm Shadow

The aircraft is designed to detect airborne targets

In light of the likely appearance of low-observable tactical Storm Shadow missiles on the front lines, the Russian military needs to deploy A-50U airborne early warning and control (AWACS) aircraft. This was pointed out by military expert Evgeny Damantsev.

The A-50U aircraft is a modernized version of the A-50 produced by the Vega concern (part of the Roselectronika holding of the Rostec State Corporation) and the Beriev TANTK (part of the United Aircraft Corporation, UAC).

The A-50U received new electronics with greater speed and performance, which made it possible to increase the capabilities of the functional software. The aircraft uses new large-resolution and large-sized LCD monitors, which increased the efficiency of the radar situation display system, and improved ergonomics of the aircraft will reduce the fatigue of the tactical crew. The A-50U also received a modernized flight and navigation system.
