A fire broke out on the former heavy aircraft-carrying cruiser "Minsk" of Project 1143, moored near Nantong (Jiangsu Province in eastern China). This was reported by the "Pengpai" publication.
The fire and rescue brigade of the Susitong Science and Technology Industrial Park in Nantong reported that on August 16 of this year, renovation and dismantling work was being carried out on the former aircraft carrier "Minsk." At approximately 11:00 AM (Moscow time), a fire broke out on board. No one was injured as a result of the fire.
It is worth noting that the "Minsk" was acquired by a Chinese company in the late 1990s. Since 2000, it has been used as an entertainment facility in a theme park in Shenzhen, southern China. In 2016, the former aircraft carrier was transferred to Susitong Park.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Roselectronics developed a system for controlling the landing of aircraft on the deck for the only Russian aircraft carrier, Admiral Kuznetsov.
