Russian cosmonauts conduct a series of experiments on the ISS before returning home

Cosmonauts observed the Earth's surface using a hyperspectrometer

The cosmonauts aboard the International Space Station (ISS), participants in Roscosmos' 71st long-duration expedition - Oleg Kononenko, Nikolai Chub, and Alexander Grebenkin, continued to execute the flight program of the Russian segment of the station on July 30.

The cosmonauts were preparing to return home - the crew tried on placement in individual "Kazbek-UM" reclining seats of the Soyuz MS-25 spacecraft.

The following experiments were carried out during the day:

  • "Взаимодействие-2": studying the patterns of crew behavior during a long space flight;
  • "Ураган": a test session of observations using a hyperspectrometer delivered by the Progress MS-27 cargo ship. This experiment includes obtaining hyperspectral images of the Earth's surface in the visible and near-infrared spectral ranges;
  • "Дубрава": monitoring forest ecosystems;
  •  "УФ-атмосфера": mapping the night atmosphere in the near-ultraviolet range with a wide-angle detector with high aperture and spatiotemporal resolution;
  •  "Экон-М": photographing the Earth to assess the environmental situation.

In addition, daily Holter monitoring of the electrocardiogram and registration of blood pressure in cosmonauts were performed.

Earlier,www1.rureported that the ISS orbit was raised by 3.1 kilometers before the launch of Soyuz MS-26.
