Russian Railways (RZD) has launched a new "Waiting List Application" service, which is available in the web application on the website, the RZD press service reported.
The new online service allows passengers to purchase tickets for "sold out" long-distance trains. This becomes possible if a carriage is added to the train or another passenger returns a previously purchased ticket.
Getting on the "Waiting List" is simple. If a ticket for the selected train is not found, click the "Waiting List Application" button. It appears automatically if all tickets are sold out.
Filling in the fields (route, train number, departure time) is done automatically. You need to manually enter: the number of seats and requirements for them, the type of carriage, passport and contact details of all passengers.
When tickets appear that meet the user's request criteria, a notification with a payment link is sent. It must be completed within two hours. Otherwise, the reservation will be canceled, and the system will offer tickets to other passengers.
You can view the status of your application, cancel it, or make a payment in your personal account. The developers plan to expand the functions and create a mobile version of the application.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that a guide has been added to the "RZD Passengers" mobile application.
