Российские вертолётные двигатели ВК-650В вышли на сертификационные испытания

After bench and ground tests, the first flight awaits them

ODK has supplied the first prototype VK-650V engines to begin flight tests of the import-substituted Ansat helicopter. The products, manufactured at ODK-Klimov, have successfully passed preliminary and resource tests, and are now undergoing certification tests at the CIAM named after P.I. Baranov test benches.

After that, the VK-650V gas turbine engine will be installed on the Ansat and ground tests will be carried out, then the helicopter will take off with it on its first flight.

Flight tests are planned to be completed by the end of 2024 in order to obtain a type certificate. ODK will then be able to start mass production of the engine as early as 2025.

It is noteworthy that the VK-650V allows the creation of modifications for various aircraft: Ka-226 helicopters and other machines with a take-off weight of up to 4 tons. The VK-650V can also be installed on drones and hybrid power plants.

It weighs 105 kg, has a take-off power of 650-750 hp, and its specific fuel consumption is 0.245 kg/hp per hour.
