5 млн пассажиров не сможет перевезти «Аэрофлот» из-за недопоставок самолетов

However, the carrier will compensate for these losses by more intensively utilizing its fleet

Due to the fact that the delivery dates for domestic aircraft MC-21 and SJ-100 have been significantly postponed, Aeroflot will not be able to transport five million passengers in the next two years.

This was announced to journalists by the General Director of Aeroflot, Sergei Alexandrovsky, on the sidelines of the SPIEF.

In 2024, our estimate of the shortfall in receiving Russian equipment is about 1 million passengers. In 2025 — about 4 million passengers. But we are successfully compensating for the falling passenger traffic through more intensive use of the current fleet.
Sergei Alexandrovsky, General Director of Aeroflot

It is assumed that in 2024 it will be possible to increase passenger traffic from 50 million to 53 million passengers.

Earlier it became known about Aeroflot's plans to abandon leasing dozens of domestic SJ-100 and Tu-214 aircraft in the coming years. There is a significant probability that all 339 aircraft that the carrier planned to receive in Russia by 2030 will be from Irkutsk — and this is the MC-21. The first MC-21s will be ready at the end of 2025.
