The Sollers plant in Yelabuga, formerly owned by Ford, has undergone modernization. Alexander Sanin, Head of the Repair and Maintenance Department of the Assembly Shop at "Sollers Alabuga," said that the hangers had been improved. They are needed to move bodies along the chassis line. This modernization made it possible to launch the simultaneous movement of bodies of different types of cars on the assembly line.
Engineers also improved the efficiency of welding production, and a pneumatic lift was installed in the welding section of the passenger compartment partition. Now it is convenient for workers to remove and install parts weighing more than 20 kilograms.
With the help of a new station, the spars began to turn 180 degrees during car assembly. It is used on the body base line, where the top cover of the body spars is welded.
As a reminder, Sollers Atlant trucks, better known as JAC Sunray, have been produced at the former Ford plant since November 2022. In China, they have been produced since 2010 and are somewhat reminiscent of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter in appearance. It was this model that the Chinese were guided by when developing the body design.
Sollers Atlant has versions of a truck, bus, cargo-passenger and all-metal vans. It can be equipped with diesel engines with a volume of 1.9-liters or 2.7-liters. The cars are equipped with ABS and ESP systems, and there are two airbags as standard.
