Photos of Russian tanks with new individual EW systems installed on their turrets have appeared online.
According to the Telegram channel "Russian Weapon", the upgrades for protection were received by T-72B3 and T-90M "Proryv" tanks.
The mini-EW systems consist of eight-antenna stations that suppress the control channels of FPV drones for various purposes. The characteristics of the new EW system are unknown, but the authors of the thematic channel believe that it may be a "relative" of the "Tetraedr" EW system recently tested by the Russian military.
EW system "Tetraedr"
One of the latest Russian developments in countering all types of modern FPV kamikaze drones.
As Andrey Ivanov, a representative and one of the developers of the device, said in an interview with RIA "Novosti", the system can be installed on both military and civilian objects: from ambulances to cars, bus stops or public transport. One "Tetraedr" costs about 300 thousand rubles.
The "Tetraedr" electronic warfare system is designed to protect equipment from the threat of modern strike FPV drones from various manufacturers. The principle of operation: setting a broadband interference on the control channels, including those with shifted frequencies. A simple and reliable suppressor that has passed a rigorous testing program has proven its effectiveness.
Its range and the number of frequencies on which the "Tetraedr" operates are not disclosed. According to the designer, the system has already passed all tests, including operation in combat conditions. They showed that the "Tetraedr" is capable of repelling attacks by FPV drones of various sizes, types and frequencies.
