Details for Russian engines for MC-21, SJ-100, Il-114-300 aircraft will be printed on a 3D printer

Rostec will put into operation the latest Russian 3D printer

The Additive Technology Center (ATC) of Rostec will put into operation a domestic 3D printer developed by "Laser Systems" in 2024. Parts printed on this equipment will be needed for engines of Russian-made aircraft, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia said in a press release.

The department clarified that the 3D printer will be located at the production site of the branch of the Ufa enterprise UEC-UMPO in Lytkarino (Moscow region). Workshop employees, including operators, technologists and designers, will be trained to work with additive installations at the ATC Training Center.

It is planned to print heat-resistant engine parts on a 3D printer:

  • PD-8 for short-range aircraft SJ-100
  • PD-14 for medium-range airliner MC-21
  • TV7-117ST-01 for Il-114-300
  • VK-650V for light helicopters
