The KamAZ automobile concern is mastering the creation of components for K-5 generation trucks as part of an import substitution project. Now, specialists are localizing stamped cab parts. This was reported in the company's press service.
To launch the production of such components, it was necessary to modernize the equipment of the press and frame plant (PRF). At the first stage, the level of localization was 71%, now it will be increased to 100%.
An additional line for longitudinal cutting of metal rolls is being purchased for the procurement production
Workers are also modernizing equipment for transverse cutting of sheet blanks. Both production lines will be operational by the end of 2024. The company's management also plans to improve machines for relief welding.
All work on the installation and adjustment of equipment will be completed by the end of the year. The project is being implemented with the support of the FRP.
Earlier, KamAZ reported that last year the number of customer complaints about K-5 trucks increased. Buyers were also dissatisfied with the work of service center employees.
