In Russia, the first unmanned all-terrain vehicle «Kaluzhanin» was created, capable of overcoming snow and swamps. It will go into mass production at the beginning of the year, now the miracle-equipment is undergoing registration and testing.
A variety of attachments can be attached to the hovercraft, developed by 'MPK-Steel', thanks to its hydraulic system: construction, rescue or military.
As 'Vezdekhoder' writes, 'Kaluzhanin' is autonomous and can withstand harsh off-road conditions without breaking down. It can move away from the operator by 1 km, but its system allows any radio control system with any transmission signal to be installed if desired.
Characteristics of 'Kaluzhanin'
The dimensions of the hovercraft are small: length 3.3 meters, width – 2.5 meters, height – 1.8 meters. Total equipped mass – 1.5 tons, useful load – up to a ton.
It has a diesel engine, with a power of 58 hp/35 hp. In the future, an option on electric traction is considered, but so far the developers have stopped at the diesel version. Fuel consumption varies from 5 to 8 liters per hour depending on the soil and conditions around. The fuel tank capacity is 70 liters.
The SUV's suspension is pneumatic circulating, there is an independent hydraulic drive on each wheel. The wheels have ultra-low pressure tires, with the function of inflation during movement.
