Космическая бомбардировка: что известно о баллистическом ракетном комплексе «Орешник»

The Oreshnik SRBM is a concentration of Russia's expertise in creating missile and hypersonic technologies

The newest mobile short-range ballistic missile system (SRBM) "Oreshnik" entered service with the Russian army in the fall of 2024. The system is equipped with warheads in both nuclear and non-nuclear hypersonic configurations.

Medium-range missiles can hit any designated target at a distance of 1,000 to 5,500 km. When launched, they reach speeds of several kilometers per second and enter near space.

The "Oreshnik" attacks targets at a speed of Mach 10, or approximately 2.5–3 km per second. Modern air defense systems currently available in the world, and the missile defense systems being created by the United States in Europe, are unable to intercept such missiles.

The Oreshnik complex is a concentration of Russia's expertise in the creation of missile and hypersonic technologies. It is important to note the almost synchronous arrival of warheads at the target, which also indicates the technological and effective development of the elements of the missile system, which is a masterpiece of modern Russian solid-propellant missile engineering.

Military expert Vladimir Gundarov clarified that by the time it reaches its orbital altitude, the Oreshnik accelerates to Mach 11 and from there heads towards the target in a cocoon of hot plasma — an additional natural protection for such warheads.

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the temperature on the warheads of the Oreshnik missiles is comparable to the temperature on the surface of the Sun.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Ministry of Defense demanded to recover almost a million rubles from Voentorg in a new lawsuit.
