The government has decided to provide preferential funding for the delivery of ten Il-114-300 aircraft to Aurora Airlines. Gennady Abramenkov, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, announced this at the Eastern Economic Forum.

According to Abramenkov, initially eight aircraft were planned, but then funds were found for two more. The deal passport will be finalized and all necessary documents signed in the near future.

Earlier, Alexey Chekunkov, Head of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic, told TASS that at least 18 Il-114-300s are planned for delivery to Aurora by 2030, although the airline's actual need exceeds 20 aircraft. The first aircraft will begin arriving in 2028.

The Il-114-300 is a turboprop regional aircraft designed to replace the An-24 and An-26. It can carry up to 68 passengers over a distance of up to 1500 km and is intended for operation on local airlines, including in the conditions of the Far North and the Far East.

As Daniil Brenerman, Managing Director of Il, noted, after the aircraft's certification, UAC received a large number of applications from airlines across Russia. The production volume of the Il-114-300 is estimated at six to twelve aircraft per year, depending on demand.
