Far Eastern airline "Aurora" will receive at least 18 Il-114-300 aircraft by 2030, Alexey Chekunkov, head of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic, told TASS at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF). The carrier's demand exceeds 20 aircraft.

A decision has been made for the first eight aircraft. Chekunkov noted that federal and regional authorities will work out a mechanism for financial support of the fleet renewal program so that ticket prices for passengers remain affordable after the full renewal.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, Yuri Trutnev, called the price of the domestic regional aircraft exceeding 1 billion rubles "fantastic" and "unacceptable" for the economy of the Far East. According to him, the region needs an aircraft that transports passengers safely and inexpensively, and work on it should be done for the entire country.

Earlier, the Ministry of Industry and Trade reported that the financing of new Russian passenger aircraft will be transferred to a new model with the active participation of banks and airlines. Instead of the previous reliance on the National Wealth Fund, a significant part of the funds is planned to be attracted from the banking sector, and the total funding volume will amount to hundreds of billions of rubles.
