After Nokia's departure from Russia, its equipment is still needed by major operators. Rostelecom is looking for four used IMM 7x50 modules for routers in Yoshkar-Ola and Volgograd. They are willing to pay up to 166 thousand yuan for each – a total of about 8 million rubles. The purchase is needed to replenish the stock of spare parts.

The modules operate in Nokia/Alcatel-Lucent 7750 SR and 7450 ESS operator routers, which collect and distribute traffic for entire urban areas and small settlements. The throughput of such systems can reach 9.6 Tbit/s.

The components do not have to be new. Used, refurbished, and long-stored items up to seven years old are allowed, and up to 10 years old if storage conditions are confirmed. The main thing is no corrosion, serious damage, remarking, or signs of amateur repair. The supplier must also provide a one-year warranty.

Experts explain this approach simply: replacing one compatible module is cheaper and faster than rebuilding an already operating network node for new equipment, software, and licenses. But the scheme has its limits – the stock of old components in the secondary market is gradually decreasing, and over time, avoiding major modernization may become impossible.
