The Experimental Design Bureau (OKB) "Alfa" has developed a new analog of the popular "Molniya" drone, but with fiber-optic control. The UAV became the first such aircraft-type apparatus in Russia.

A technical specialist from OKB explained that the fiber-optic drone operates at a range of up to 50 km. Engineers managed to maintain the payload capacity of the original "Molniya".

That is, it will carry its cherished 6.5–8 kg just like a regular aircraft-type UAV.

Currently, three drones are under development, two of which, after tests, will be supplied to the troops for trials in real combat conditions.

Senior radio mechanic with the call sign Kosmos noted that "Molniya-2" carries a load of up to 6 kg and maintains high maneuverability. The drones arrive at positions disassembled – in boxes.
