UAC CEO Vadim Badeha announced that the company will soon complete the manufacturing of the first production MC-21 aircraft. According to him, the program is being executed within the framework of contractual obligations with Aeroflot airline, which is set to receive 18 aircraft of this type.
He noted that production is proceeding in a serial mode, and all contracted airliners are in an advanced stage of readiness, which allows maintaining the delivery schedule.
UAC also reported plans to expand the confirmed flight range of the MC-21. It is expected that the indicator could be increased to 4000 kilometers after the completion of the next stage of certification tests. This will allow the aircraft to cover most domestic routes without intermediate landings.
The corporation's management clarified that the improved parameters will be officially confirmed as testing procedures progress.
Concurrently, the industry is discussing the prospects for deliveries of the regional SJ-100 aircraft, for which the demand from Russian airlines is estimated at around 60 aircraft by the end of the decade. Deliveries are expected to begin after certification is completed, approximately in early 2027.
