Russian airlines will need about 60 SJ-100 aircraft by the end of the decade. Deliveries of new airliners to carriers could begin in the first quarter of 2027 after the completion of necessary certification procedures. This assessment was voiced by the head of Rosaviatsia, Dmitry Yadrov.
As for the Superjet aircraft itself, the demand until 2030 is about 60 aircraft.
An additional step towards bringing the aircraft to market was obtaining a type certificate for the PD-8 engine. According to the head of Rosaviatsia, the ODK-Saturn enterprise will subsequently be able to produce up to 30 such engines annually.
The SJ-100 is a Russian short-haul narrow-body aircraft, created on the basis of the Superjet 100 with the maximum level of import substitution of key systems and components.
Earlier, the head of Rostec announced that the first four to five MS-21 aircraft are likely to be delivered to customers in 2027. According to him, the completion of certification flights is planned for the first quarter of the same year.
