The Federal Service for Intellectual Property (FIPS) has registered a new patent for a new type of turbojet engine (turbojet). The author of the development is engineer Vladimir Leonidovich Pismennykh. The concept of a turbojet engine with a forced turbine offers a different approach to supersonic flight - through the so-called "cold forcing."
The key feature is an increased pressure drop in the turbine. At the start, the degree of pressure reduction is 50–75% of the degree of pressure increase in the compressor. This allows you to reduce the gas temperature in front of the turbine and increase the temperature "acceleration" of the rotor, Pismennykh calculated.
In flight, the engine maintains a relative reduced rotation speed according to a special control law, depending on the air braking temperature at the inlet.
According to the author's calculations, this scheme makes it possible to work effectively at speeds above Mach 3 without traditional afterburning. In the transonic range, "passive afterburning" is used - part of the air is bypassed into the turbine cooling system with simultaneous adjustment of the nozzle.
The stated goal is to eliminate the drop in compressor performance with increasing speed and ensure high efficiency at supersonic speeds. The development is focused on promising civil and military aircraft.
