At the Perm enterprise ODK-STAR, more than 130 units of new equipment were installed in 2025. The launch of high-tech machining centers will make it possible to increase the production throughput of assemblies for PD-8 and PD-14 aircraft engines for the Superjet and MC-21 aircraft, the United Engine Corporation (ODK) stated.
ODK-STAR is currently undergoing modernization and renewal of its machine tool fleet. This concerns milling machining centers, turning-turret machines, surface grinding machines, and vacuum and shaft furnaces.
In 2026, the new five-axis milling machining centers are expected to master the processing of components for RED-8 and RED-14 electronic regulators intended for PD-8 and PD-14 engines of Russian Superjet and MC-21 aircraft.
In the mechanical shop, eight VFC-800V five-axis machining centers have already been commissioned, and three more machines are being prepared for launch. They make it possible to perform several types of complex-part processing at once: drilling, hole machining, thread cutting, straight-line and contour milling.
