Western sanctions will not be able to hinder the production of the new Russian aircraft Il-114-300 and SJ-100. This was stated by Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Gennady Abramenkov.
According to him, the Il-114 and the "Superjet" are unique in that they were fully assembled in one country on its own production base.
Accordingly, one of their main advantages is that no sanctions pressure is capable of stopping the production of these aircraft.
Abramenkov added that in cooperation with India, the first step will be the delivery of already assembled aircraft. Then the sides will discuss the assembly of fuselages and finished components on the territory of the republic.
We are ready to consider various cooperation options under conditions acceptable to each side.
On Wednesday, January 28, 2026, the United Aircraft Corporation presented the Il-114-300 and SJ-100 at the Wings India exhibition. This is the first world premiere of fully import-substituted aircraft.
It should be noted that the Il-114-300 and SJ-100 have still not received a type certificate in Russia, but this does not prevent them from participating in international exhibitions. In the first case, the aircraft has already completed the basic test program, while the readiness of the "Superjet" was assessed at 92%.
Independent aviation expert Aleksei Zakharov warned that serial production of the Il-114-300 may be fraught with problems due to an unrefined supply chain for components.
