The new import-substituted SJ-100 aircraft with PD-8 engines will be presented to carriers from the factory in a two-class configuration for 100 passengers, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The front rows of seats belong to the "Comfort" class and have increased space for passengers, the remaining part is "Economy". The exact breakdown of the number of seats in each class is unknown.
It should be noted that non-import-substituted Superjet 100s on regular routes support several cabin layout options, which depend on the requirements of a particular airline.
The most common cabin layout in them is a two-class (business + economy) for 87 passengers (12 + 75). There is also the so-called full economy, mainly used by Azimuth and Yamal airlines, with a capacity of up to 103 passengers.
Earlier it became known that the United Aircraft Corporation will for the first time show a fully import-substituted "Superjet" abroad. The aircraft will participate in the Wings India 2026 exhibition in Hyderabad from January 28 to 31.
SJ-100 tests in Russia are still ongoing. The progress of certification has been estimated at 92%.
