The Russian TV7-117ST-01 turboprop engine for the Il-114-300 enters series production

ODK has certified the aircraft engine for serial production

United Engine Corporation (ODK) (part of the Rostec State Corporation) announced its readiness for serial deliveries of the new TV7-117ST-01 turboprop engines for the Il-114-300 regional aircraft. The airliner with these engines is being presented to the general public for the first time at the Wings India 2026 exhibition. Russia has already established infrastructure for servicing these powerplants.

The TV7-117ST-01 engine was developed at the St. Petersburg enterprise ODK-Klimov and received its type certificate in 2022. As part of scheduled certificate updates, its operating characteristics were expanded, and the total service life and the service life of key parts were increased. In 2025, the last operating restrictions were removed, including the use of thrust reverse and operation under increased loads and maneuvers. Approval of the major change confirms the safe operation of the engine in demanding flight modes.

According to ODK-Klimov General Designer Evgeny Prodanov, the TV7-117ST-01 fully meets the requirements of the technical specification for the Il-114-300 aircraft. The engine has already been included in the valid production organization approval certificate, allowing the corporation to begin serial deliveries. In addition, service support for the TV7-117ST-01 has been prepared in Russia. At Wings India 2026, ODK is demonstrating all the engine's capabilities to foreign partners.

The Il-114-300 airliner with the new engines underwent flight certification tests in 2025. The experimental powerplants accumulated nearly 3,000 hours in more than 400 flights. The TV7-117ST-01 turboprop engine features improved flight and operational characteristics and works with the modern low-noise AV112-114 propeller, providing thrust of up to 4 tons. In many respects, the Russian powerplant surpasses foreign counterparts.

The engine develops a maximum output of 3,100 horsepower at takeoff, features reduced fuel consumption, and offers high operational manufacturability. It is capable of operating effectively at temperatures from −60 to +45 °C. The upgraded BARK-65SM digital control unit synchronizes the operation of the engine and the propeller, increasing the aircraft's overall efficiency.

Serial production of the TV7-117ST-01 will allow Russian aviation to equip regional aircraft with modern domestic engines, reducing dependence on imported components. For passengers, this means safer and more economical flights on domestic routes.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Il-114-300 made a historic flight to India. The aircraft is making its debut at Wings India 2026.
