AvtoVAZ has finally abandoned the production of Lada Granta with an automatic transmission. This was announced by Sergey Kornienko, head of product marketing at the enterprise.
According to him, AvtoVAZ is now focused on the production of Lada Iskra with automatic transmission - this model has greater potential.
If you add an "automatic" to the current Lada Granta, some time will pass, the cost will also increase, and, possibly, the (price) gap from Iskra with an "automatic" will be very small. Therefore, from the point of view of "entry-level" cars with an "automatic", we have Iskra.
In 2024, Lada Granta was produced with a Chinese 4-speed Jatco version. Production was limited to 5 thousand units.
Now they decided to abandon the idea with a two-pedal model. Lada Granta will retain the status of the simplest and most affordable model in the Lada family.
Earlier www1.ru reported that AvtoVAZ adjusted prices for the entire Lada model range at the beginning of 2026.
