The merged company Wildberries & Russ has started the industrial use of a robotic manipulator on the sorting line of the warehouse complex in Koledino. The new system is integrated into the existing infrastructure and is designed to automate the operations of capturing and transferring goods.
The manipulator is capable of processing at least 950 items per hour with a capture success rate of over 97%. The robotic arm is adapted to a multi-nomenclature flow: the objects differ in shape, density, material and packaging condition. The system recognizes goods, segments objects in the image, selects the optimal gripping points, calculates the number and configuration of suction cups, and builds a safe trajectory of movement, avoiding collisions with equipment.
The software analyzes the working area in real time, assessing the probability of successful capture for each object, taking into account visual features, scene depth and geometry.
The robotic arm does not perform actions that could lead to errors: captures outside the working area, repeated attempts to pick up unsuccessfully lifted objects, or incorrect trajectories. Before each movement, the system performs a safety check and adjusts the position if necessary.
