After the blocking on December 3, 2025, the management of the Roblox gaming platform contacted Roskomnadzor with a willingness to comply with Russian legislation and requirements for ensuring the safety of children. The agency confirmed that if the necessary conditions are met, the platform may again become available to Russian users.
Roskomnadzor emphasized that previously Roblox did not provide sufficient content moderation and security of chats between users. According to the regulator, the platform should protect children from information about violence, sexual exploitation, incitement to suicide, drugs, extremism and materials prohibited in Russia. Now the management of Roblox has expressed its readiness to gradually bring its work in Russia into compliance with the requirements of the legislation.
The company reported that they are ready to temporarily limit their communication services and revise content moderation processes in order to restore user access. It is emphasized that the company continues negotiations with Roskomnadzor.
According to RKN, Roblox was blocked in Russia due to systemic violations and the mass distribution of dangerous content. The agency noted that the platform has become a place of activity for pedophiles who used built-in chats to lure intimate photos, incite lewd acts and violence, followed by a transition of communication to real life.
Similar problems with the safety of children were noted in the United States, where on December 15, the Attorney General of Florida filed a lawsuit against Roblox for the low level of moderation.
