The Russian kicksharing service Whoosh will start operating in Medellín (Colombia). This was reported in the company's press service.
Whoosh plans to increase the number of available scooters in the country to several thousand units by 2026.
The international business segment has become a significant source of growth for the company, as revenue from trips in South America is 1.8 times higher than in Russia and the CIS. The payback period for projects here is shorter. In 2026, the service fleet in South America will exceed 30,000 scooters.
Whoosh expects that the share of Latin America in their business may reach 40% in the medium term. The company considers the Colombian market as one of the most promising for the development of micromobility. In the first quarter of 2026, the service is planned to be launched in another city in Colombia and to enter a new market in the region.
Whoosh founder and CEO Dmitry Chuiko said that the service has been present in South America since 2023. It was previously launched in Chile and Brazil, where there are already 14,000 scooters.
We are consistently building a long-term and sustainable business in Latin America, focusing on cities with high demand, dense development, and support from municipal authorities.
In the first nine months of 2025, the number of Whoosh users in the region increased to 3.4 million (an increase of 116% compared to the same period last year). The number of trips reached 8.4 million, which is 2.4 times more than the year before.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Whoosh presented the "smart" IoT 7.0 module.
