Import substitution works: key material for aviation and defense industry is made in Omsk

The production of polyisobutylene cost 2.5 billion rubles

A new polyisobutylene production facility has started operating in Omsk at the site of the Omsk каучук plant of the Titan group of companies. Aviation lubricants, sealants, gaskets and electrical insulation cannot do without this most important material.

Previously, more than 90% of the material was imported from abroad, but now the situation is changing - the plant intends to produce up to 10 thousand tons per year.

Investments in the project amounted to 2.5 billion rubles, for which modern equipment was purchased and the infrastructure of the enterprise was modernized.

It should be noted that polyisobutylene is famous for its resistance to temperature extremes, chemicals and gases, and is therefore suitable for difficult working conditions.

The launch of the new plant almost completely covers the needs of the Russian market with its own resources.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the National Research Center "Kurchatov Institute" developed a new material VCU-65. It will be useful in the manufacture of lightweight and durable parts of the PD-8 aircraft engine.
