A new polyisobutylene production facility has started operating in Omsk at the site of the Omsk каучук plant of the Titan group of companies. Aviation lubricants, sealants, gaskets and electrical insulation cannot do without this essential material.
Previously, more than 90% of the material was imported from abroad, but now the situation is changing - the plant intends to produce up to 10 thousand tons per year.
Investments in the project amounted to 2.5 billion rubles, which were used to purchase modern equipment and modernize the enterprise infrastructure.
It should be noted that polyisobutylene is famous for its resistance to temperature extremes, chemicals and gases, and is therefore suitable for difficult working conditions.
The launch of the new plant almost completely covers the needs of the Russian market with its own resources.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Kurchatov Institute Research Center developed a new material VCU-65. It will be useful in the manufacture of lightweight and durable parts of the PD-8 aircraft engine.
