A robotic scanner for automatic quality control of turbodiesel engines has been launched at the Sollers engine plant in Yelabuga.
The new system checks each assembled engine, evaluating all fastening points and tightening torque, recording even minimal deviations. Full automation eliminates the influence of the human factor and should increase the stability of product quality, as well as reduce the risk of possible breakdowns during operation.
According to the company, the introduction of robotic control is part of a larger production modernization program, which includes updating the software of test benches, expanding the end-to-end digital diagnostics system and increasing the level of automation of logistics processes. Sollers notes that such changes will allow faster detection of defects at an early stage and reduce the proportion of defects in mass production of engines.
However, the market demand for the company's equipment is not yet high: in the first full month of sales, only 14 new Sollers ST9 crossovers were registered.
